Internet Tour
Internet Tour is an open and replicable tour operator focused on the phenomenon of tele-technologies. Since 2018 its tours have explored the hidden digital infrastructures in dozens of cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Berlin or San Francisco among many others. Internet Tour is an initiative by artist Mario Santamaría that allows us to collectively explore this physical infrastructure of the Internet halfway between the tourist route for non-tourists, performance and illumination for lay people. In Paris, accompanied by a guide who introduces each site, participants will walk through the places where our emails, messages, likes, comments, videos and photos circulate.
Mario Santamaría works across a wide range of media, frequently using photography, video, performance, websites and online interventions. In recent years his work focuses on tactics to embody distribution protocols, performing actions such as physically travelling to his website by repeating the data path; going for beers around the city as a Google algorithm or founding a tour operator based on the Internet physical infrastructure. His work has been shown among others in: ZKM Karlsruhe, WKV Stuttgart, MACBA Barcelona, CENART Mexico, Arebyte London, Les Rencontres d'Arles and C/O Berlin.
François Muzard is an architect based in Paris and specialized in data centers.
